Sure, you could. This is actually a clever but mean thing to do to an unsuspecting person – have someone “pretend” to smoke the e-cigarette, and get them inhaling the mild nicotine vapor. Get them addicted, and then take it away and see what happens.
I imagine it would work really well on small kids, but, of course, who would want to do that?

If there is no nicotine or the additives in real cigarettes that increase the bodies absoption of nicotine in an E-Cig you won’t get addicted to nicotine.
You can get addicted if it’s never introduced into your system.

depends if there’s nicotine in it. most ecigs have the option of ordering nicotine or nicotineless. but if there is nicotine then you can get addicted. however nicotine is in no way harmless. it is better for you than caffeine without tobacco

I actually have a friend that started smoking the e-cigarettes (after he was smoking tobacco cigarettes for a few years), and he said that the e-cigs helped him quit altogether.
